Oh wait, could giving an 8 month old a turkey leg lead to obesity? I guess I am part of the problem. I am off to the treadmill. It is not a small world after all. Do you think they will change the song during the ride?Saturday, August 30, 2008
It's an obese world after all
Yesterday we went to Disneyland one last time before our passes expired. It was a great day. We have not been able to go all summer since our passes have been blacked out. I am sure many people have noticed that the "Its a Small World" ride is closed down until 2009. I just assumed they were repainting and freshening up a bit. No, apparently they have to re-dig the area where the water flows so the boats can pass through. I learned that people are so fat now that the boats were dragging the bottom of the canal and getting stuck. I know lots of research has been done about how our nation is becoming more obese. I think they can stop all the research. Doesn't re-digging the boat canal at Disneyland give us all the confirmation we need?

super Saturday
Super Saturday(craft day) is approaching. So, I have been coming up with some ideas for the ladies. I love these blocks that I made. I thought I would post them in case other people need some ideas or just want to make some. I cut a 2 x4 into different heights. Painted them the color I wanted. Found cute scrap book paper and modge podged(sticky product at craft store) the paper on the blocks. Then of coarse I made some vinyl stickers to finish. So easy, So Fun and So cute. If anyone needs the vinyl stickers to complete the craft just let me know.

Goodbye Paws
I am not an animal lover by any stretch of the imagination. My Mom and Carly however are animal lovers. So today is a sad day for them and even for me. The closet thing we have ever had as a pet was my Mom's dog "Paws". My Mom has had him close to ten years--when Taylor was a baby. He is half wolf because we wanted him to scare away the coyotes in Fallbrook. He was not very scary though. I used to love taking him for runs because he would pull you the whole way. Over the last two years we would have to start pulling him. You could see him trying so hard to run fast and try to keep up. He even collapsed a couple of times trying not to let us down. Then I remembered he was getting old so it was like taking your Grandpa for a run. He lost his best friend Roy to old age (the other dog in the pen) last year. I had never seen a dog depressed before. So, now I am sure he is reunited with Roy again. I know Paws is making Roy wait to eat until he is done with what he wants.
Paws, I hope you get to run as fast as you want again. We will miss you and I am sad for your Mom and Carly.Sunday, August 24, 2008
12 years down
The night before our wedding I was crying and thinking what have I done. I can't get married... eternity is such a long time. Then Scott came over and made me laugh and I knew eternity would be OK. Some days I still think eternity sounds like a long time, but most days it does not seem long enough. So thousands of laughs later we celebrate our 12th anniversary.
After the wedding and honeymoon festivities he brought me home to this lovely apartment. He had the ugliest couch I have ever seen waiting for me. I knew we could only go up from there. Maybe eternity is too long if he thinks I can live with this couch. Luckily, we have not one piece of furniture from our 1st apartment. When we moved out we gave the couch to another poor newly married couple.Thursday, August 21, 2008
Head banger
He smacks his head into walls. He slams his face on tile. His sisters drop him. I step on him. This is all in a day for Brody now that he is crawling around. I saw this ad in a parenting magazine and did not know these helmets existed. Who would really use them? I guess there is a market for them or they would not have them. Should I be more protective of his head. Carly fell out of a shopping cart onto the pavement and had to go in an ambulance to the hospital when she was 1. No medical brain damage but she has a hard time cleaning her room. Maybe if I had her in one of these helmets she would have been fine and would clean up her room now. I guess I am just bugged how overprotective people are. I can't imagine taking Brody everywhere in a helmet. Notice at the bottom it says cool kids stuff. Is it cool and I am uncool and not protective enough?

So, this is my attempt to be a protective mother and protect you from gravity.
I guess he is realizing that he is not so cool. Look up while you are crawling...stop banging your head into the wall and the helmet will come off.

As I was typing this post, the nurse at the school called and said Sydney fell off the bars at school and banged her head and chin. I guess tomorrow she is going to school with her helmet on.

Gentleman...start your engines
As many of you know, (including the CHP) Scott loves to speed. So this year for his birthday I wanted to come up with something to get rid of his need for speed.
We went to the Auto Speedway and he got to drive an official race car.

After many minutes of training he was ready to go. I think he was secretly hoping they would see some race potential in him and ask him to quit his day job so he could race INDY.

Twas the night before school
Twas the night before school and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring not even a hamster.
(Mickey, our hamster was evicted.)
in hopes that the teacher would soon be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of school lunches danced in their heads.
If you have not caught on. Tomorrow feels like Christmas morning for me.
I can't wait for it to come. All 3 girls will be in school.
Free time and a clean house until 2:45.
Have a great first day girls!
