Zion

Dad and Sydney stayed home for soccer and things so I took the rest of us to Zion for Memorial Day weekend.  My favorite part was the tubing down the river.  Brody was too small so we bought some tubes for him to do a small part of the river.

His face once he saw the rapids.

My brother, Brent, was making a water slide in the river with rocks...

I was a little surprised they did not make us wear life jackets because it was not a lazy river.

I have never been tubing where the whole time you have to tube for your life...It was all rapids.  After we were done Taylor said we were the Michael Phelps of tubers.

...and then there was hiking and vacation photos...

He looks a little like Gollum from Lord of the Rings in this photo.

I never get any pictures of my parents with my kids...so I got one of my Dad.

It always feels weird when the whole family does not come on the vacation...I felt like I was forgetting someone everywhere we went.  Plus, I really hate driving by myself back from Vegas after a holiday weekend.

Checks

I knew I was asking for trouble when I asked Scott to order me some checks because it was not working on my computer.  I thought for sure he would pick some Utah Jazz picture or something I would never pick out...just to be funny.  I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the checks and saw some tropical background and thought that was not bad.  Then I started putting the checks back in the box and Taylor noticed it..."I Love my husband".  This is on all 500 checks...so every time I sign a check I have to think of him and his money.  I think this might backfire on him because I am just going to have to try really hard (spend lots of money) to go through those 500 checks... so I can order new ones.

Melting Pot Photos

Here are some photos of my surprise at the Melting Pot restaurant even though I am sure most have seen the video on Facebook.  I will now give a play by play of my thoughts.

Here is the table all set up nice and romantic...great touch.

Why is there a bright light shinning in my face?

I think he is proposing...Do I close my menu or keep it open because I still don't know what I want?  To keep it open during a proposal is rude I think...so I closed it to give him my attention.

He is nervous to propose to me...how sweet that he loves me enough to do this.

Holla! A new ring!

Well deserved PDA!!

We always laugh during everything...that is who we are.

Now our cheesy photo shoot that we had to do to get our reward.

Still have not picked out my new ring yet...2 months later...stressful.  I did look at the Costco rings while shopping for groceries...Scott got mad at me for even thinking a Costco ring was acceptable. I buy everything there, why not a ring?

Mothers Day 2013

I got the same Mothers Day cards that I am sure most Moms get...but I did get a few great one liners in mine.  I was just grateful to get a thought from my teen Taylor even though I am sure she was forced by her YW leaders.  Carly gave me a little more love..."Mom, You are the best in the whole world.  I don't ever want to get adopted. (Interesting?) Thank You for everything.  Joyful, Older gal...but hot, Young."

Sydney gave me a whole single spaced typed page.  I won't write everything...but here are the highlights: "She is athletic, brown haired, blue eyes that sparkle like blue crystals. She loves to buy sweat outfits and drive me to soccer practice.  She makes me feel spectacular because she supports me with my sports.  My Mom is as skinny as a stem of a flower.  She also is as pretty as Niagara Falls.  My mom is the best mom on Earth...bomb.com"

My favorite and most concerning is from Brody.  He just drew pictures of me...3 of them on each page of the card.
Me:  "Brody, those are great drawings...are those all pictures of me?"
Brody:  "Yes, Mom they are all of you and I didn't forget to draw your breasts."
Me:  "I see my breasts but what are the two other circles?"
Brody:  "Your bra!!"

Silly me.  These are the moments that make Mother's Day!

CinnaMAN

We had a sad day yesterday...our bunny of two and a half years died.  We think a raccoon got it due to some detective work of some bloody paw prints.  Of course Carly was the one who found him and will be scarred forever.  He probably had the best pet bunny life ever. He never lived in a cage.  When we first got the bunny we named it Cinnamon but after a year we figured out it was a boy and changed it to CinnaMAN.  He roamed our backyard and went in his cage to sleep and eat at will.  He always watched us swim and would hop over to join us at the fire pit.  I think his favorite holiday was Easter because he would go crazy as we ran around finding eggs.  He would try to hop in the house if someone left the backdoor open.  His best trick is that he would eat out of our hands...I loved that he would eat the weeds in the back yard and poop in only one corner of the yard.  People would always get scared as they would see a bunny hopping around while we were in the backyard...but it was just CinnaMAN our bunny.

Carly made a headstone in the place where she found him in the backyard.
