bike tricks

(me) "Sydney what happened to you?"

(Sydney) "I was doing tricks on my bike and crashed!"

(me) "What kind of tricks were you doing?"

(Sydney) "I was riding my bike with my eyes closed!"

Once again the concrete always wins!

Hurry up!

We have lived in our house for 5 years. This has been our backyard for 5 years...most of the time we have had weeds to our waists. It is not a big backyard but big enough for our dream of having a pool. Luckily for me not big enough for ward parties...(because I am sure the Bishop would offer) but big enough for some summer fun with friends. I am just trying to do my part to stimulate the economy is what I keep telling myself. Finishing the project is like having a baby because everyone keeps asking when are you done. I thought I would show some pictures of how close we are and entice people to come swimming. I am sure it will be more enticing when we have plaster and water. I am such a dork because I started buying pool toys and patio stuff 3 months ago. I think I am nesting. I just want to be prepared for when the "water breaks".

judge not

I try to judge not...but when I drove by this house close to my house I started judging. What kind of person paints their house purple? I have made some wrong decorating choices, so I know I am not perfect...but seriously. My best none judging conclusion was that they must hate their neighbors and want to get back at them. Maybe it is not what is on the outside but what is on the inside that counts. I don't even want to imagine what the inside looks like!!!

57 and still kicking

My mom is having a birthday. So I decided to give her a blog post as a gift. (cheap, I know) I want to say everything to her that I should have said while growing up. Sometimes it takes you 'til your mid 30's to say the things that should have already been said.

I want to thank you for taking care of me as a newborn. Thanks for waking up in the middle of the night and caring more about me than yourself. I am so grateful I did not have to go through "shaken baby" syndrome as I am sure I tested your patience.

Thank you for letting me be a kid and not having a care in the world. You took on all of the burdens of raising a large family. Once again, you were caring more about others than yourself.

You listened to my stories and fears and hopes...when I know you had your own. You still cared more about me than yourself.
SIDE NOTE...Thanks for all the unappreciated dinners you made me. I am sorry that I would tell you things are gross and I did not like your food. I laugh each night as I hear the same complaints.

I have loved all the extra things you have done for me. I never knew how much time and thought was spent into making the holidays special. Even though we did not give you the praise you deserved, you kept doing special things year after year. Still not caring about the praise you deserved.

Thanks for teaching me to take on anything. I am not scared of power tools and know not to rely on my husband to fix things but just to do it myself. I just fixed the toilet today.

Thanks for making me a person that can contribute to society and ready to face the world.

I think you love Scott more than me, but that makes you a great mother-in-law. You always accepted him as if he were your son. We never have had in-law issues because you cared more about us than yourself.

Once you think your job is done you still have to be selfless and love your grand kids.

I think you were worried your grandchildren would have "shaken baby" syndrome so you made sure to be there. I could not have made it through the first few weeks without you to take care of me and my babies. Husbands try but sometimes you just want your mom. You would let me sleep and not care you were tired too.

In conclusion, you still care more about others than yourself and we all appreciate you and the sacrifices that you have made in your life to bless each of our lives. I am glad we have had you for 57 years on the planet because your life has made a difference. Happy Birthday!

Reunited

I have been really trying to take pictures of my favorite moments of motherhood. One of my favorite moments is walking in my baby's room after they have taken a nap or waking up for the day. They are so excited to see me and are just waiting for me. I feel like a rock star or a famous celebrity from their excitement. It feels like we are being reunited after a long time apart. They express their love so purely and can't hide their excitement. I love you and missed you too always runs through my mind. With that said I decided to document this moment with Brody.

"I have been waiting for you."

"It has been a long time...you look good"

"Can you still see me down here?"

"How could you forget how cute I am and leave me here to sleep?"

"Put that stupid camera down and get me out of this stupid crib!!!!"

April fools mission

Here is your mission if you choose to accept it...Place parking ticket on Dad's car without being seen. He knows he would be in big trouble from Mom if he got another ticket.

Top secret agents!

A little extra disguise...no one will be able to identify this top secret agent.
