He is lucky I left a little room for him...I don't know why he does not like going to Costco. People are always impressed with how much stuff I get in the cart. I impress myself how good I am getting at this mom thing...well the grocery shopping.

Party Like You Are 13

A look at Taylor's party through my eyes...
Me: We can get pizza for your party but we need some healthy things too.
Taylor: Pizza has all the food groups...cheese...dairy...tomatsauce...vegetable...crust...grains...etc.
Me: Good one, but no.
Taylor: Please don't do anything with your vinyl for the party. That is a little kiddish.
Me: Good one, but no. (see my 13!)

Someone please tell him this is not "The Bachelor". In the real world, you will never have 10 girls all wanting to talk to you.

Taylor: Mom, you are so awesome with all the fun stuff you planned. Everything was so original. Thanks for all your hard work. You must have spent so much time and money in preparing for my 13th birthday. I will never forget this party.

OK...she never said any of that, but I know that was what she was thinking in her teenager brain. Her brain is still forming so she can't say what she feels. :)

I wanted to share my new creative night swimming idea. Glow sticks in the pool at night. It is magical...Try it.

Little Bishop

I could not help but take a photo today. He wore his first suit coat today. He looked in the mirror and said "I look like a little bishop."

Teenager

Taylor is a teenager...her Golden Birthday...13 on the 13th. I decided to give her gifts that every teenager would love...

1. Ground her from her cell phone so she can not receive any Happy Birthday texts. Don't worry the gift of grounding will come again during your teenage years.

2. Wake her up early because teenagers hate to sleep in.

3. Take her in public in her pajamas and slippers. Teenagers never care what others around them think.
4. I gave her the gift of time. She did not have to waste her time to do her hair and makeup. You are welcome.

5. I reminded her that teenagers think money grows on trees and it is so not true.

Lazy Cookies

These are my new favorite cookies. 1. get pre made choc chip dough 2. put them in pam sprayed mini muffin cups. 3. bake at 350 like normal but take them out a few minutes less than the packages says to keep them soft and finally...

4. push mini reeces peanut butter cups in the cookies after you remove from oven. Let them cool and scoop out of baking pan.

Super Saturday

Here are some ideas we came up with for Super Saturday...

This is a growth ruler. I saw it at Pottery Barn for $100 and decided I could make this myself. It goes on the wall and can be moved if we move. We measure every birthday. The kids love it. It is a fact, Sydney will be my tallest girl. We are offering 6 and 7 foot rulers.

This idea I got from "theidearoom.blogspot". They have all the instructions, but so easy. I am giving this to all my kids' teachers and neighbors for Christmas with a cute bow.

Pumpkins made from 2x4's. Cute if I do say so myself.

Last, we are adding some dangles to the "Welcome" sign we did last year...Halloween and Thanksgiving dangles.
