Brace Face x2

Mom has a fun summer planned...Braces!!!

Carly had the best smile when she was little. Her teeth were absolutely perfect. Little did I know that perfect baby teeth mean Expensive Permanent teeth. She had no space which now means I have to pay thousands of dollars to create space...to get that smile back.

Day one of Braces. There was a smile on her face until later that night when the pain of braces kicked in. "Mom I thought braces would be fun"...You have so much to learn little grasshopper.

Not as much work but she still needs some work. They have to do surgery and put a gold chain on a tooth to pull it down. It is growing sideways through the gums. That stupid tooth cost me an extra $1500.00. They get to earn tokens for good brushing and no broken brackets. If they get enough tokens they get a $30.00 gift card. Don't you think that should go to me and the expense of the braces? They did not go for it.
You two are worth every dollar!!!

nine and looking fine

We had a birthday girl and she choose some of her favorite recipes.
Our summertime drink of choice...."Strawlada"
Frozen Bacardi drink mix-1/2 can pina-colada and 1/2 can strawberry daiquiri with a can of water and ice.
I am also getting sick of cakes...luckily she choose our favorite dessert. We call them Pazookies but they are also called skookies. Bake a cookie on this cast iron pan and then put ice cream on top of the hot cookie. For some reason this pan makes it 100 times better than a normal cookie on a cookie tray. To die for.

Just in case anyone is interested in buying one. I hate it when someone says how much they love something and I can't find it to buy it. They are also at Tai-pan.

Mini Graduate

Jr High...Here I come...I mean here she comes. I think I am more scared than she is...since I know what is to come.

She had her 6th grade graduation. I was really proud when she got her presidential award for straight A's all through elementary school. Her good friend is smart like her, but I worry her good friend looks like she is 16.
Congrats Taylor!!!

Fruit Pizza

My favorite summer dessert.
2 cup flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 cubes butter
mix then flatten and bake on pizza pan at 325 for about 15 minutes...Barely brown
let cool
8oz cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
mix...I use beaters then spread on pizza crust. You can make more of this just depends how thick you want the cream
Last decorate with fruit...I use mandarin oranges, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, bananas anything I have. If you want to really get fancy drizzle choc over it.
I never have any left overs
Happy summer!

Karate Kid inspiration

How do you inspire children to paint your dining room. Remember the old Karate kid movie? Wax on, Wax off...Sand the floor...PAINT THE FENCE. We had a family movie party and watched Karate Kid. The next morning I told them we had to start our Karate training. They were all for it. Actually they did a great job. Now I have a painted dining room. Thanks Mr. Miyagi. I have not seen the new one yet but I guess I should go to get some new parenting tips.

The one negative of showing the Karate kid movie...I had to hear my husband say the quote "Get a body bag Johnny" all night.

20th reunion

I was looking through photos for Scott's 20th high school reunion. He would not submit any so I thought I would on his behalf. I am trying to talk him into attending in Salt Lake. He thinks I have hidden motives of wanting to go to my own 20th. This is a rare photo... an almost never before seen photo of Scott as a Cheerleader...or Yell leader as he likes to call it. People laugh when they hear he was a cheerleader, but does he look like he is doing a lot of cheering or just flirting? Doesn't everyone want to see what the cheerleaders look like after 20 years?
"Catch me I am falling" is my song choice because I am sure that is what I would have been thinking if I was a cheerleader and you were my base. Were you called a base? I don't know I played volleyball:)

3 down 1 to go

For many years I have had a women's bathroom sign on the girls bathroom door. I guess the sign had to come off because it is not fair to the newest toilet user. 3 girls down and 1 boy to go. I have noticed that I have had some problems with my terms due to the excessive potty training of girls. My biggest problem is I keep telling him to take off your panties...I mean underwear. I can't count how many times this has happened. I also thought it would be easy just have him sit for everything. Dad said No to that. A few more but I won't share to keep this tasteful. I think he is doing great, but honestly I had low expectations because of all the stories about boys being slow.

Great Job Brody...your panties are dry...I mean underwear!!!!
