I Need Counseling

I can't sleep, I can't eat, and I have knots in my stomach. I have seriously lost 4 lbs in 5 days from my mental disorder. I seriously need counseling. All over my girls soccer. Taylor's team made it to the finals, Carly's team is in the semi's...hopefully the finals...and Sydney's team made it to the finals. I love watching all my girls play and it is fascinating that they all play so different. Taylor is a smart soccer player, Carly is scrappy and feisty...Sydney has come out and just been amazing. I credit my two older daughters with helping Sydney to be the soccer player she is. I feel like Sydney is in the shadow of her two sisters most of the time, so I want to talk about her and how proud I was of her this season.

Let me do a quick background...Syd's team did ok this year and ended 6th out of 10. Syd is young in her division, but a stand out. Does not matter how many practices you take your kids to, some kids just have something you can't teach. I have heard Tiger Woods' Dad say that and Jimmer's Mom say that. Now you have heard me say that about Sydney and soccer. (See, I need counseling.) We won the first playoff game and then had the end of the year party after that game because we thought we would lose the next. Next game comes and they win one which was a great surprise. Now the semi finals...This game was like USA facing Russia in that ice hockey game in the 80's...MIRACLE. They were undefeated and none of the parents thought we would win. We just did not want the girls to get killed. They have a girl so big and good on that team that I am scared of her. We pumped up Syd that day because she is the #1 goal scorer. I gave her a good talk but I did not even believe what I was saying. Scott even told her the story of David and Goliath. I can't put into words how amazing Syd did. She scored 3 goals and one was so pretty...almost from half field over everyone's head with her left foot . This goal tied the game in the 4th quarter. I saw something in her that you knew she was not going to lose. Scott kept yelling at her "Go David...you wounded Goliath." A little strong now that I look back and realize they are only 7 and 8 year old girls...but we get into it. It felt like a World Cup game.

Look.... I think Scott is saying a prayer so we win the game:)

So, we went to a shoot out and what do you know...we won. We beat the world power house of soccer... in the under 8 division. I loved looking at how happy Syd was and a moment that would be a memory forever. Everyone was telling me how amazing she was and other coaches were recruiting her to go play for club teams. It was such an emotionally high night. She taught me a great lesson. Just because no one else thinks you can do it, does not mean it can't be done. Just with the highs of sports comes the lows. They still had the finals the next night. I was emotionally and physically drained...I can only imagine how these little girls felt. They lost in the Finals but ended their season in 2nd place. A few tears were shed because I think most of them just wanted the big trophy. We are such a close family that Brody is crying for the loss...or maybe he just fell in the mud.

Syd woke up this morning happy as usual and did not mention the loss. I asked her if she was ok this morning...her response...ok about what? But I am not ok about the loss and that is all I have been thinking about all day. That is why I need some serious counseling. I love this game.

Ticket

I recently got a ticket and the cop took my photo and kept looking at me a couple of times. He didn't say anything and then handed me my undeserved ticket. I thought that was weird, but more mad that I got a ticket. The week before I went to the DMV to get my new license so I was waiting for my new license in the mail. My new license is going to be tarnished with this ticket. They asked me if my address has changed and I said "who cares about that just change my weight". Soooo happy to have my new license.

Chewy

A 3 year old boy comes downstairs completely naked with a belt over his shoulder. I knew he was trying to be someone, but I could not guess. Brody...who wears no clothes and a strap over his shoulder? Any guesses?

Chewbacca!! Once again you are completely right, but until you grow fur all over your body...put some shorts on.

Crazy Easter Road Trip

This Easter we decided to get crazy and drive to Arizona for the Easter pageant.

Swimming in shower caps...crazy Carly!

Waiting two hours for an hour pageant....crazy dumb

Nothing crazy about the stage...but look closely at the sign. No seat saving...crazy. We are Mormon that is what we do, save whole rows.

Where does the Easter bunny hide the baskets for my kids to hunt for them? Crazy high!!

Sugar at 8am...crazy and hyper kids.

Crazy in love even after 4 kids...or maybe just wanted to gross out the kids at the Arizona temple.

The best part of the weekend is the crazy Easter story Brody came away with after our effort to really focus on Easter.

Batman smashed the rock(boulder) in front of the cave(tomb) where Jesus died. Then Batman took out Jesus and saved him.

Thanks to Batman for a Happy Easter!!

Never Enough Soccer

Just my annual soccer photos

Scott is assistant coaching this year and even refs when the real ref is a no show.

This is the real coach...his BFF
Sydney's BFF

This is Carly's soccer team and as a side note they are in the movie Lincoln Lawyer. They play soccer against Matthew McConaughey's daughter. There jerseys are navy and say Empire soccer on them. They got the part not because of their soccer skills but they liked the teams jerseys. I think it is rated R so fast forward to the soccer part:)

My Clown Shoes

So I have been going through lots of stuff to get rid of for the garage sale. It is not hard for me to get rid of stuff. I can't figure out why I can't get rid of these shoes. I have had them 10 years and have never worn them.

A long time ago Scott gave me these for a gift. He went online at Nike and designed these shoes. They were really expensive and if you look close at the tongue of the shoe he had them monogrammed...Bear and Honey...our nicknames. It was so thoughtful and he knows I love running shoes. They are just so ugly I could never bring myself to wear them in public. I began calling them my clown shoes because I thought the colors just were ugly together. This may make me sound heartless because it really was a thoughtful gift. He keeps asking me why have I not thrown them out in 10 years. As I was cleaning out my shoes for this garage sale...I had to ask myself why can't I get rid of these. Maybe I am not that heartless because every time I see these shoes I smile and I think of his thoughtful gestures. He has given me great gifts and surprises, but yet I hold onto these shoes. Is it weird that I feel loved each time I look at these shoes.

If I ever had to dress up for a clown I know the first item of clothes for my costume...is that heartless?
